Discovery in the News

OUR ROOKIE DISCOVERY TEAM WAS ONE OF 49 TEAMS OUT OF ALMOST 600 TEAMS TO GO TO THE SCANDINAVIAN CHAMPIONSHIPS FOR THE FIRST LEGO LEAGUE ROBOTICS COMPETITION!

The Discovery Challengers and Explorers competed for the first time in the First Lego League Competition in Scandinavia this fall. Both teams did amazingly well, and our Challengers were the second place Champions of the Oslo Regional competition! Two teams from each regional competition in Norway went on to the Scandinavian Championships, and our Discovery Challengers were one of them! They competed against other teams from Norway, Sweden and Iceland! We are so proud of our rookie team! At the final, they were nominated for the core values award (kjerneverdier) and also took 13th place in the robot competition!

APPROVED!!! This is the article we have been waiting for! To say we are excited is an understatement! We are one of only nine private schools (37 applied in Norway) to receive approval from the Norwegian Ministry of Education this year! We are humbled to be given the opportunity to serve the families and children of the Ringerike Region by providing a good school alternative.

Here is a link to the newspaper article.

Discovery International School made its debut in the Ringerikes Blad on Wednesday, March 19, 2019. The article, written by Knut Andreas Ramsrud, gives a good overview of what the founders and board members envision for Discovery. It also provides information on some of the expected highlights a Discovery education will include. You can read the article here.

The same article, with a different headline, was also published in the Hadeland newspaper on March 25, 2019. You can read that article here.
